世の中で一番楽しく立派なことは
一生涯を貫く仕事を持つことです
世の中で一番みじめなことは
教養のないことです
世の中で一番寂しいことは
仕事のないことです
世の中で一番醜いことは
他人の生活を羨むことです
世の中で一番尊いことは
人のために奉仕して
決して恩に着せぬことです
世の中で一番美しいことは
全てのものに愛情を持つことです
世の中で一番悲しいことは
うそをつくことです
「福沢諭吉が書いたものと俗に言われているが、実際は後年の偽作」
という評がネットで見られた。
教育勅語の１２徳と比較しても同じようなものだと言える。
このような教えを伝えようとしない最近の教育が悪いのか、
このような教えを押し付けることが悪いのか。
